Love it for my Laptop posted on 2004-10-03
I have been looking around for quite some time and even bought two on ebay but the 1st didn't work at all and the second gave me always erros when using more than one usb port.

this belkin unit is fab!
not even a single problem with one or more devices hooked on it. It doesn't matter is the device is self powered or not. this hub supplies enough power for all my usb devices.

This hub is not powerful enough to run my [1] ADSL modem, [2] Cannon low powered scanner, [3] Ezonics cam/webcam. It does make me wonder why Belkins bother to have a separate power supply.
 
Quick and easy way to add extra USB ports posted on 2004-04-01
This is a great little device. It's really compact and has green LEDs to let you know the ports are working. Just plug it into the back of the PC to get additional USB ports for camcorders, USB mouse, digital cameras etc. Why crawl around the back of your PC trying to find ports for your digital camera when you can have this device sitting on the desk. It allows easy swapping of equipment. The hub also comes with its own power source which should be useful for power hungry equipment.

Was very impressed by many good reviews and interesting comments, BUT nobody mentioned that the Belkin 6V power supply, or 500ma per port is not enough for power hungry scanners or ADSL modems. So these you cannot use on the Belkin simultanously!

This little device looks stylish and ever so easy to install. Unpack, plug in the mains, plug in the USB devices and say goodbye to unplugging and plugging in. This works a dream, it switches effortlesly between devices without delay. The freedom to do more is gained by owning this Belkin 4 USB port. A definate buy.
