Customer Reviews for Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter, 100m range

This has got to be the worst USB bluetooth there is..
First of all, its not a Belkin product..It is a black and tiny device with a bluetooth logo and the word Bluetooth wrote across the top, Oh lets not forget..it has a yellow flashing light...
Now, if you enjoy uutilising bluetooth technology and gadgetery around your house like me, you would expect something for this price to perhaps have a few complications here and there and eventually work. WOW was i disappointed! It didn't work at all!!...In fact, i thought i could resolve the problem by purchasing two of them (please don't laugh, its hard enough admitting to it) that just made it worse because again nothing happened. Please don't waste your money on this item.
Bluetooth Technology is not meant to be a struggle. Look elsewhere or buy at your pearl...

How much packaging?!? posted on 2006-02-23
Contrary to another reviewer's experiences, this worked straight out of the box on my WinXP SP2 machine. Windows then configures itself to share files via Bluetooth which is very handy given range available.
Note for Nokia phone users: If you're buying this to allow you access to the media on your mobile phone, don't download the software from Nokia. This is not needed as WinXP can browse the phone using Explorer, and also the Nokia software buries itself deep within the workings of your machine.

The only problem with this product is the amount of packaging it comes in! Given that it's the size of your little finger, it's amazing how the huge box wouldn't even fit through my large letterbox! Really not necessary...

I bought this in conjunction with the Belkin USB Printer Bluetooth adapter.

Fixing this onto a laptop using widnows XP was ok - the process didn't match up with Belkin's instructions but it was possible to work it out eventually. It just took a little while, what with finding the printer driver etc. You may need to allow at least half an hour for what should be a five minute job.

Anyway it works.

Failed to get it working decently with SP2 posted on 2005-11-10
After a lot of time finding and then following Belkin's guide to getting this working with XP-SP2, I managed a very very poor quality connection to my Nokia headset - it crackles when the PC makes a noise, nothing intelligible.

Returned it and tried a competitors that worked great (granted after a similar SP2 hack, but described better in the competitor's guide)

Great Product posted on 2005-08-03
This is a great product which does exactly what it says on the box. I plugged it into my XP SP2 system, it found it, installed it and was ready to go within 30 seconds. No drivers, no additional software required. And it paired with my laptop and my mobile just as easily.

Highly recommend, and its got a great blue led on it as well!
