Product failure within two years posted on 2006-08-22
BEWARE. I purchased two of these memory cards in late 2004. Both of them have failed within the last three monts. They have been used in Canon Ixus 430 and Canon Ixus 500 cameras.
 
Defective within 6 months posted on 2005-05-01
I bought this card just 6 months ago for my Minolta camera and it worked fine until a few weeks ago when I got a card read error so it's now totally defective. Unfortunately it seems I can't return it to Amazon as they only offer a 30 day return period for defective items. I wouldn't take a risk on buying another ByteStor unless it's from a high street retailer as they would at least accept joint liability with the manufacturer and it would be much easier to exchange.

I bought this compact flash card for my Canon G5. I am delighted with the faster write speeds to my computer. My previous Viking Flash Card had much slower write speeds. I didn't realize how irritating that was. It's amazing how faster write-speeds are a pleasant experience, making digital photography that bit more enjoyable. Yes, I recommended this product whole-heartedly. I only regret not buying the 512 byestore flash card, only I have to keep within a budget and the 256 card is more than adequate.
 
No faster than normal cards posted on 2004-10-06
Used in a Canon Ixus 400. Went for the "faster" card based on previous reviews. Hmmmm Did a small test - using lowest resolution, rapid fire, no flash. Kept the button pressed for 10 seconds then counted the number of pics taken. With my older card a 128Mb from "Integral" (whoever they are - about a yeatr old) got 12-13 pics. With the ByteStor 256 "40x Hi-Speed" got 9-10. So, save the money and dont go for the so-called "fast" cards would be my advice.
Other than that it seems to work OK.

Purchased this item with the Canon Ixus 430. A bargain for the size and the speed, it worked instantly, no formatting required. Highly recommend this item to future buyers.
