Customer Reviews for Lexar 1GB 80X Professional CF Card
Faster then a speeding bullet.... posted on 2006-07-17
This card is the fastest I've purchased so far. When you take a video clip with my camera it writes it to the card in the fraction of the time of my old card. At the price of this quality 1 gb card you would be silly not to purchase it. Note, the software is on the card so don't format it (which takes only a few seconds) and then look for the CD!

Does the job, but not lightning fast posted on 2006-03-04
Just received the card, and it's good, does what it says on the tin, but I was expecting it to be faster than my other 1Gb card (ByteStor Hi-speed). This card is the same speed in my tests for taking photos, prosessing photos (which could just be my camera (Olympus C8080), but also in my computer...

If I could wind back the clock, I would have rather bought a cheaper 1Gb (or 2Gb) card than this premium card which is no faster.

Indestructable card posted on 2005-10-01
I Bought one, not from amazon though. Use in my Canon 20D, exellent performance. I lost it but realised that it had been through the washing machine on 40C, still works great, the best

Until I bought this card I had been using a leading 40x compact flash card (in Konica Minolta A200). Performance using RAW was bearable, but always left you wanting faster write times.

I did some tests on the 40x card versus the 80x card using a burst of 5 images in RAW format. The 80x card was nearly, but not quite, twice as fast. I'm thinking it was not exactly twice as fast because of limits maxed out on the camera as opposed to any issue with the card.

The card itself appears of good quality and to date has been reliable.

As yet have not made the time to test the software which comes shipped on the card itself (Image Rescue 2) although it installed on my machine running XP without issue.

Recommended if you need the speed.

I wish I'd bought them ages ago! posted on 2005-06-10
When I bought my camera (Nikon D70 - also five stars) a year ago I bought a couple of ordinary 1Gb cards with it, and thought that all cards were the same: a few weeks ago I bought two Lexar Professional cards and saw the light. Writing delays are almost eliminated! On multiple I can fire off a full buffer of shots and it's ready to go again almost immediately; more realistically, I can fire off two shots every second until the card's full. Formatting is virtually instantaneous, and when it's connected to my PC's card reader, it's as fast as reading from the hard drive.
This is a superb product: more than ten times the performance for less than ten per cent more money, and it has transformed the way I take pictures
