Customer Reviews for Sony 1GB Pro Duo Memory Stick
Ensure your equipment is compatible If so BUY IT posted on 2008-11-13
Ive owned my Sony Cybershot W5 camera for several years now and tried to make do with a miniscule 128mb Memory Stick constantly deleting some lovely photographs just to make space for others.

The time i purchased my camera Memory sticks of this size cost well over £30 so i always put off purchasing a higher capacity stick for this very reason thinking i could make do for the time being, that was five years ago.

Recently on a visit to Co durham i paid a visit to Escomb church which is one of only three surviving buildings that dates from 650AD that is totally intact.I was visiting on a business trip to nearby Shildon and thankfully must return early next year.

This was only my second time this far North from Wales so imagine my annoyance when i had to delete precious photographs to make up space to take pictures of this stunning church,a church i had wanted to visit for well over twenty years but thought the distance a bit too much in a day.

If you go on the website for these Memory sticks they tell you what equipment they can be used in.Some of Sonys digital cameras are not compatible with certain sticks so check before you buy.

I have now purchased a 4Gb stick which comes with the special adapter that this smaller ProDuo stick requires.

Imagine when i saw 1486 fine quality shots available on my led screen, over 1400 more than i had before and the stick works just perfectly.I will now never miss a shot or have to delete a precious photograph just to make up space for another.

If you are still thinking about upgrading your Memory stick first find out which ones can be used in your equipment as certain cameras willnot accept 4gb sticks or larger.

Genuine Memory Stick Duo Adaptor? posted on 2008-01-26
The item I bought looks and feels like the real thing, but the adaptor does not fit in either my Sony A100, or Sony Alpha DSLR. I would have returned it if I actually needed the adaptor.

Fine solution for a necessary evil posted on 2008-01-13
I hate the fact that Sony continue to go it's own way with the memory stick; Just about everybody else on the market uses some form of the SD range but Sony has to be different with a proprietary format. I bought a Sony HDR-HC3 HDV camcorder which can also take pretty decent 4MP stills so to use this facility, I was forced to buy a Memory Stick for it.

The stick works well and I got it for a good price from Amazon at the end of 2006. Should be even cheaper now. Be wary of buying fake sticks from some independent sellers (you'll find people with bitter experiences here) but the genuine article works just fine.
