Customer Reviews for Viking 1GB Secure Digital (SD) Memory Card
You get what you pay for!

I bought this card around 6 months ago and intended to use it on my PDA. It worked fine for a few months and then started to lock up for some unknown reason (The PDA couldnt read the storage card). I then moved the card and utilised it in my Nikon D80 for general day to day pictures uploading after each use. I used the RAW and JPEG formats. Last week, the card locked up altogether. I cant read, write or format. I've tried this on my Mac, my PC and various other devices. I guess you get what you pay for. I've gone back to using SanDisk Ultra II. A bit more expensive but it hasnt let me down yet!!
Works fine and no problems with my Digital Camera

I bought this SD card last Summer 2006 after reading the reviews on Amazon and was a little worried as it wasn't a named brand like SAN Disk or Kingston. However, the reviews were correct and this card has been fantastic. No problems using it in my Canon IXUS 750. Fast read and write times - not that I have much to compare it against other cards but you don't visible see read/write delays. At the price it was 6 months ago (£10) you couldn't go wrong and it was worth a risk anyway.
I don't take the card in and out so this minimises any damage or issues I'm sure but had no problems. Have recommended this card to 2 others in Canon Ixus 65 camera's and has proved fine too! (though you may need to remove the label (safe to do so) as it's a bit of a squeeze in the ixus 65).
At full res on the 7.1 MP IXUS 750 I've got around 330 odd picture and a few short video clips in "compact" mode
I would definately recommend this card to you and others and lets face it as just around £5 - you can throw it away if it fails after a year!

I Purchased a 1GB Viking SD card, It was working fine until one day I came to download some pictures to my PC and the horror come, the SD card needed formating, with important pictures from christmas on! I thourght this is not happening but it would not work in any other digital camera either! Something must have gone wrong with the Card and I will never purchase and Viking product again. Im now going to purchase a lower size SD card and HOPE that it does not do the same thing. Oh and the 5 year warranty thing is a waste of time! who is going to go to all that hastle for something worth £10, answer nobody. Thanks for loosing my pictures Viking.

I bought this memory card in preparation for a 4 week trip. I also own the 512mb card and it works perfectly well so assumed the 1gb would be equally as reliable. I took around 500 pictures and when I arrived home I was looking through the pictures on the camera and the pictures literally disappeared.......every picture that I took on my holiday of a life time....gone! Have been to a professional camera shop who could not retrieve them either.
Purchase at your own risk!!!!!

I bought 2 of these in July 2006 for use in an in-car MP3 player. Both worked fine for about 6 weeks. Then they would only be recognised intermittently, and now both are unusable - not recognised in any device or computer. So I'm not happy. I'm positive I didn't mistreat them in any way, but it is odd that both failed when other people find them very good. Am in discussion with Flash Memory - the actual supplier.
