SANDISK 1GB ULTRA ll SD PLUS USB
newest addition is the innovative Ultra II SD Plus USB, which combines USB and SD functionality in a single card. The ubiquity of this new format eliminates the need for a reader or PC c adapter, as it transforms from an SD card to a USB adapter with our unique hinged cover. The superior value for providing two products in one makes this the most unique SD card in the market. What is SDHC?To support the higher capacity needs, SD cards are now requiring a different design. The new SD 2.0 specifications which supports 4GB and up, is called Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC). The SD Association has created and defined 3 speed classes to help you identify speed and performance capabilities/minimum requirements of SDHC cards and their SDHC host products.

Customer Reviews for SANDISK 1GB ULTRA ll SD PLUS USB
Excellent...until it broke!

I chose to buy a Sandisk SD card because Sandisk have a good reputation for quality and reliability and I take so many photos that this was really important.
I bought my card just under a year ago and until last week, it worked a treat. I used it in my Canon IXUS 800IS, and as far as speed etc. goes you couldn't fault it. The USB functionality is also extremely handy as you can drop photos off onto a PC without having to worry about carrying your camera lead around everywhere with you. The card itself feels a bit flimsy though, I have to say - I always took care to be very gentle with it and not bend it too much. Still, I was very happy with it...
HOWEVER, right in the middle of my holiday last week, the memory card just packed in. I took a photo, switched to playback mode to have a look at it and it never made it! All I've had since is "Memory Card Error". I lost over 400 photos, which was really galling. Even Jessops, who run a service specifically for recovering photos off corrupted memory cards, couldn't get them back! (Incidentally, if anyone can help me with this, I'd be really grateful!)
Still, in spite of all this, I'm still back on Amazon looking at buying the 2GB version of the same card! Why? Well, I'm inclined to think that this was a one-off unlucky incident, rather than a fault with the entire line of products...and besides, that USB functionality is really very handy! I guess it's down to a personal choice - do you want to risk it? I just thought I'd warn you what can happen - turns out Sandisk weren't quite as reliable as I'd thought!
excellent but build quality could be better

excellent piece of kit. Bought it a year ago and has never let me down. Would highly recommend it.
Only issue is the build quality. Other than that, it has impresssed quite a lot of people. :)

Brilliant but needs better construction

I thought this thing was genius, I showed it off all the time and used it constantly, both as a flash drive and a SD card.
However, as genius as this thing is, it's not built very well at all. If you're going to save important data, go for the hassle of a regular SD card. That's not to say you'll lose data (I never have) but my card's casing broke where the hinge mechanism is. This left it unable to be used as a SD card, but fine as a flash drive. Sandisk have promised me a replacement.
Having said that, I would recommend this card, it's just that useful. Just don't expect it to last longer than a year, keep a regular SD card to hand as back up with your camera. Even if it breaks, it's not hard to retrieve your data.
Fantastic gizmo

Of all the 'toys' I've bought myself, this has to be the most useful one, it's so easy to use, and can store lots of pictures, I LOVE IT and would totally recommend it.
Be careful!

I've had mine for a while and love it - really handy for carrying about, smaller than standard pen drives so good for moving data and obviously really handy for using in cameras. You do need to be careful though - mine has split apart and the 'lock' device has fallen off which means I can use it to move data around but it won't let me take photos on it. The same has happened to my partner's card. Having said that, it is great and I'm buying another one to replace it!
