The camera charging indicator did not flash with this battery. There was charge in the battery and the camera did function but I doubt it is fully electronically compatible. It is not worth risking the camera. One for the bin I think. You get what you pay for.

Everywhere else on the net I've seen this battery for sale it's been over £50.

On first trying to inset this battery into my new Canon MVX460 camcorder it didn't look like it was going to go in. On closer inspection there appeared to be brass or gold-plated pins obscuring the connectors which looked permanent and immovable.

After gently probing the pins with a watchmakers screwdriver it became apparent that they were indeed spring-loaded and would actually move out of the way.

On second insertion attempt, the battery popped beautifully into place. So my advice to anyone else obtaining this replacement battery is simple ... if the battery doesn't pop straight in - DO NOT force it, be very gentle and jiggle it in or (like I did) make sure the spring contacts will bend easily across and then very gently try it again. It will go in if you're careful and I'm sure that once it has been inserted and removed a few times it will bed in and install a lot easier in future.
