I have spent quite some time looking for a pocket digital camera with a viewfinder as opposed to a screen alone. I thought this would be easy but sadly not.
I was thrilled with every aspect of my camera, as well as the speedy, safe delivery of it.

The newer models were available but this one had two features I was looking for - a viewfinder and standard AA batteries. I have an SLR already so I needed something small and not complicated yet satisfying quality wise. It was just what I needed. Parties photos don't have red eyes. Outdoors are bright and vivid and I haven't read the manual yet. Simply brilliant and brilliantly simple.

I bought this camera for my wife as a replacement for her Kodak Sureshot. The main criteria for the replacement was that it must have an optical viewfinder. This camera was one of only two I found after trawling the internet for hours (the other camera was £100 dearer). Having read other reviews (some good some bad), I have not been disappointed at all with the cameras performance, in fact I am very impressed. Having said that the features are far more than my wife will ever use and she did find it confusing at first but setting it to Auto relieved her of any settings needed. I found the display acceptable in terms of resolution after all you only want to check the composition of the photo not the quality. The display was improved once the protective film had been removed!! Pink was not a colour that I would have chosen but when I got the camera it was not a shocking pink , but very subtle and looked very nice. Anyway my wife is very happy with it and I suppose that was the main thing.

This camera was bought for my wife. I have had the earlier model (Powershot A560) for a few years and am really delighted with it so this guided my choice. It is slimmer than the A560 and has 12 mega pixels instead of the 7.1 for the A560. It is one of the very few compact digital cameras with a viewfinder which I use most of the time, particularly useful in bright sunlight! You can set it to 'auto' and just point and shoot if you want to keep it simple - great for my wife or for me if I'm short on time. I am one of those who takes batteries out immediately after use and I have to say that they seem to last for ages. I would fully reccomend this to anyone who wants a good, easy to use reliable camera.
